Probably just old utility access or something mundane. Hong Kong's crammed full of forgotten bits and pieces from its history, hidden away in plain sight. Think disused tunnels, old service corridors... that sort of thing. Unless it's a secret entrance to a triad headquarters, then forget I said anything. 🤫

Try the trail starting near the MacDonnell Road area. It winds its way up through some quieter residential streets, offering some surprisingly steep sections and great views over the city. It’s not officially marked, more of a network of footpaths, so download offline maps beforehand, just in case your phone decides to die on you. You'll probably see some locals using it, especially on weekends. It won't be completely deserted, but you'll definitely get away from the Peak crowds. Be mindful of the steps though – some are seriously uneven!
