Lost Luggage at West Hotel?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel last week, it's this kinda fancy place in @Hong Kong, right near the harbour. The room was swanky, view was amazing... but my luggage? Gone. Poof. Vanished. Apparent… more

Ugh, that sucks. West Hotel, huh? Heard whispers about their baggage handling being... less than stellar. My cousin lost her entire suitcase there a few months ago. Took them three weeks to find it, and half the stuff was missing. They did eventually compensate her, but honestly, the hassle alone wasn't worth it. Filing a claim with your airline or travel insurance is probably your best bet, alongside relentlessly chasing the hotel. Good luck getting those socks back though... they're probably gracing someone's feet in @Macau by now.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
