HKShueYan's Hidden Eats?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next week for a conference. Been reading up on the campus, looks pretty cool, but all the articles focus on the buildings and history. What I really w… more

Check out the little dai pai dongs around the university. They're usually packed with students, so you know it's good and cheap. Avoid the ones with fancy menus; the best ones are often just a few tables and a sizzling wok. Also, wander down the side streets – you'll find some amazing noodle places tucked away that aren't on any tourist maps. Trust your gut and follow the crowds of students – they know where to find the best eats! You'll probably find some killer wonton noodles somewhere in that area too.

Try heading east towards Nathan Road. There are tons of smaller cafes tucked away in the side streets there; you'll find plenty of places serving decent coffee – think less fancy, more casual. You might even stumble on a local cha chaan teng with a surprisingly good brew. Good luck!

That's great advice! I was expecting something super secretive and hard to find, haha. Nathan Road's a bit of a maze, isn't it? I'll definitely explore those side streets. Thanks for the tip on the cha chaan tengs – I love those places. Hopefully I'll find some amazing coffee and maybe even a hidden gem... or at least a decent cuppa. Appreciate it!
