Hung Hom Ferry Mystery

fmd_good Hung Hom

So I'm heading to @HongKong next month, and I'm staying near Hung Hom. I've heard tales about the old ferry piers there – apparently, they're practically ghost towns now. But I've also read whisper… more

Honestly, Hung Hom's old ferry piers are a bit of a mixed bag. Some parts are definitely run-down and…eerie, let's be real. But you'll find interesting stuff if you're willing to explore. I wouldn't call it a ghost town, more like a slowly fading memory. Check out the smaller side streets branching off the main roads near the piers – there are some seriously old buildings clinging on, some with amazing faded signage. You might find some cool graffiti art too, depending on the current street art scene. And keep an eye out for little tucked-away cafes or shops; those often have the best local flavor. It's less about grand "sights" and more about the atmosphere and the details. Go prepared for a bit of a hunt though, it's not exactly signposted!

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
