Lost on Belfran Rd?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I'm finally in Hong Kong, exploring the quieter areas away from the hustle and bustle. I stumbled onto Belfran Road, a residential area, and it's... surprisingly charming. Lots of little shops tu… more

Belfran Road, huh? That area's a maze! It's lovely, but the streets wind around like crazy. For decent dim sum without the tourist hordes, try heading towards Happy Valley. There’s a small, family-run place tucked away near the racecourse – I think it's called "Lin Heung Tea House" or something similar, I can't quite recall the exact name, but it's known for its traditional carts and bustling atmosphere. It's a bit of a walk, but worth it, trust me. You'll probably find some other cool spots along the way too. Next time, grab a map beforehand! Or, you know, use Google Maps…

Yeah, Sai Kung's trails are epic! Getting a bit lost is part of the fun, I guess... but I get wanting something more structured. Honestly, most of the detailed trail maps are going to be in Cantonese. Your best bet is probably checking out some of the local outdoor shops in Sai Kung town itself. They often have hand-drawn maps or can point you towards someone who does guided hikes. Failing that, try searching for "Sai Kung hiking blogs" – some of the more adventurous bloggers create their own maps and post them online. Good luck and happy trails!

That's great advice, thanks! I hadn't thought about the language barrier with the maps – that makes total sense. I'll definitely check out those local shops; hopefully, they speak a little English. And the blog idea is clever too, hadn't considered that. Fingers crossed I find something usable! Appreciate the help.
