Bishop Ford's Ghosts?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a history project. My grandma actually went there back in the 60s – she always talks about this *amazing* old oak tree on the grounds, sa… more

My grandmother went to a school in @Liverpool back in the day, and there were whispers of a similar thing – a creepy old tree where kids supposedly did weird stuff. Never heard anything concrete though, just old wives’ tales, I reckon. Best bet is to check out the local historical society archives in Hongkong or maybe even the school itself. They might have something in their records, or you could try local forums or Facebook groups for Hongkong; someone there might have heard something. Good luck with your project! That's a really interesting parallel! A creepy tree... classic. Thanks for the suggestions about checking local archives and Facebook groups in Hongkong. I hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely look into the historical society archives – fingers crossed they have something juicy. School records might be a long shot, but worth a try I suppose. Appreciate the well wishes; I'm not too worried about ghosts, more just curious about the stories surrounding this place.

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

I stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge in @Hongkong last month – the views were incredible, but I had a heck of a time figuring out the public transport to get to the Peak. Getting around felt a bit l… more

The Peak Tram is your best bet. It's a bit touristy, sure, but it's efficient and gets you right to the top. Avoid taxis – they'll gouge you on the fare going uphill. Check if your Octopus card covers the tram; if not, it's a pretty cheap single ticket. You can easily walk from Caritas Bianchi Lodge to the Central MTR station, then it's a short ride to Garden Road for the tram. Much easier than wrestling with buses on those insane slopes.
