Kamstore Conundrum?

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So I'm heading to @HongKong next week and everyone keeps raving about this Kamstore.hk place. It's supposed to be this crazy, amazing grocery store, right? I've seen pics online – looks like a senso… more

Haha, six hours in Kamstore? Totally believable. It's a massive place. My strategy is to go in with a list – seriously, write it down. Need soy sauce? Put it on the list. Otherwise, you'll wander, mesmerized by dried seafood and the 50 varieties of seaweed. Also, the layout is… less intuitive than, say, a Tesco. Just embrace the chaos. Think of it as a delicious, slightly overwhelming treasure hunt. And if you do spend six hours there, well, at least you'll have found everything you need, plus a few hundred things you didn't know you wanted.

Yeah, you nailed it. The list thing is key. I should of done that. Spent half my time just staring at the different types of noodles. It’s like a sensory overload, but in a strangely pleasant way? I did find some amazing pickled ginger though, so it wasn't a total loss. Next time, I'm bringing reinforcements. And maybe a map.

Bishop Ford's Secret?

fmd_good Bishop Ford Memorial School

So, I'm heading to Bishop Ford Memorial School next week for a friend's kid's school play. Heard it's a pretty old building...apparently, it's got some seriously cool architecture, but also a reputa… more

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
