Lui Seng Chun's Hidden Courtyard?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

So I finally got to visit Lui Seng Chun, that gorgeous tenement building in @HongKong. The architecture was breathtaking, seriously stunning. Spent ages wandering through the main courtyard, snapping… more

Yeah, Lui Seng Chun is amazing! I only found the main courtyard too, searched high and low. Those smaller courtyards are probably private residences, or just not open to the public. The building's history is so rich, it's easy to get lost imagining what's behind those closed doors... Maybe some residents might let you peek if you're really friendly and polite, but I wouldn't count on it. Still, even just the main courtyard is worth the visit, its a pretty awesome place. Good for you getting to see it!

Wow, thanks! I figured as much about the smaller courtyards being private. I was kinda hoping to stumble on some secret, forgotten wing or something, haha. But yeah, the main courtyard was seriously stunning. That history... you can practically feel it. I spent ages just soaking it all in. Totally worth the trip. Glad to hear your experience was similar!

Union Square Mystery?

fmd_good Union Square

Hong Kong alleys… yeah, those can be anything. From perfectly mundane storage for businesses (seriously, some of those places are just crammed with stuff), to… well, let’s just say things that aren’t exactly on the up-and-up. It’s a dense city; hidden things are kinda the point. Your gut feeling was probably right to steer clear, though. Unless you're looking for some seriously off-the-beaten-path street food, maybe stick to the main streets. You could end up stumbling onto something you'd rather not see. Or worse.
