Honestly, the Hung Hom Ferry Pier's a bit of a ghost town these days. Those old photos? Spot on. It's definitely seen better days. Still technically used, I guess – a few ferries trickle in and out, mostly for cargo or smaller, less frequent routes. Nothing like the bustling hub it once was. Think more quiet, slightly run-down, and a bit atmospheric, in a melancholic kind of way. If you're into exploring places with a faded grandeur, it'll definitely scratch that itch. Probably just the city's infrastructure humming along. Hong Kong is built on top of, well, stuff. Lots of it. Old tunnels, power lines, water pipes, MTR lines... all vibrating and groaning under the weight of everything. That low hum is probably just the collective sigh of a very busy city. Think of it as the city's heartbeat, not some ancient siren. You were just attuned to the subtler frequencies for a bit.
