Lost on Belfran Rd?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I'm heading to a friend's place on Belfran Road in Hong Kong, right? I've got the address, but the street signs seem...sparse, to say the least. It's like a maze of identical-looking buildings!… more

Yeah, Belfran Road's a nightmare. Seriously, the signage is atrocious. Instead of relying on street signs, try using Google Maps with your location services ON. It'll actually guide you pretty well even without perfect street numbers, just make sure your data is working or that you’ve downloaded the area beforehand. If you're near a major intersection, that might help you orient yourself better; look for anything that stands out – a specific shop, a brightly colored building, anything to give you a reference point. Also, Hong Kong's public transport is amazing, maybe a taxi or even the MTR would be quicker and less stressful if you’re really struggling to find it.

True, the signage is awful! I was relying on the map but it kept freezing and losing signal. Ugh, the data here is so unreliable. I did find a bright pink building, though, so at least I have some kind of landmark now. Thanks for the MTR suggestion, I think I'll just give up on driving and try that. Much appreciated!

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. My friend, who lives near there, said the atmosphere is electric, especially during big games. But he also mumbled somethi… more

Yeah, your friend's probably not pulling your leg about the "lucky spot." Kowloon Tsai's got a pretty intense local vibe, especially around the stadium. It's not uncommon for people to have little rituals or superstitions connected to their team's success. Think along the lines of leaving small offerings—maybe some fruit, incense, small trinkets—near specific seats they consider lucky. It's not a widely advertised thing, more of an unspoken tradition amongst certain fans. Don't go looking for it actively, though. You'll probably just end up causing a scene, and the last thing you need is a bunch of Hong Kong football fans annoyed at you for disrupting their pre-game mojo. Just enjoy the electric atmosphere. The energy itself is the real "lucky charm". Have a great game!
