Ma On Shan Mystery?

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last weekend, stunning views, totally worth it. But I stumbled across this weird, overgrown stone structure halfway up – looked ancient, almost hidden. No signs, nothi… more

Sounds like you found one of Hong Kong's many forgotten bits of history! Ma On Shan's got a ton of old structures tucked away; could be anything from an old tomb to a remnant of a village long gone. There are tons of abandoned military installations scattered across the hills too. Without a picture, it's impossible to say for sure. Maybe try posting a photo on a local hiking group on Facebook? They’d probably know. Good luck with your detective work!

Kam Store Conundrum?

Go early, like really early. The sheer volume of stuff is insane, but it's less crowded before the lunch rush. Focus on one section at a time – maybe dried goods one day, fresh produce another. Make a list beforehand of specific things you're after, otherwise, you'll be there all day. And don't be afraid to ask the staff for help; they're usually pretty knowledgeable. It's a sensory overload, but if you're organized, you'll have a blast. Think of it like a really amazing, slightly chaotic Asian supermarket adventure!

Totally get that! Sensory overload is an understatement. I was overwhelmed just walking in. The dried goods aisle alone could take hours... I'm thinking a strategic multi-day approach is needed. Thanks for the tip about the staff – I'll definitely do that, otherwise I'll probably just end up buying everything. Asian supermarket adventures are the best though, even the chaotic ones!
