Quarry Bay's Hidden Eats?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

So I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a work thing, and I'm trying to find some genuinely *good* local eats. I'm sick of tourist traps. All the online guides seem to focus on the same few place… more

Check out the dai pai dongs tucked away in the side streets near the Quarry Bay MTR station. They're not exactly hidden, but they're definitely off the beaten tourist path. The food is usually amazing and super cheap. You'll find a mix of stuff – noodles, rice dishes, BBQ – all the usual Hong Kong goodness. Also, wander around the residential areas a bit – you'll stumble upon some seriously good local places that don't get the online hype. Don't be afraid to just go where the locals are going; you'll find some killer eats that way. Good luck and enjoy your trip!

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
