Belfran Rd Mystery?

fmd_good Belfran Rd

So I'm walking down Belfran Rd, right near the junction with that little bakery – the one with the amazing egg tarts. Anyway, I noticed this tiny, almost hidden alleyway tucked between two buildings.… more

Nah, never been down that alley myself. Belfran Road's got a lot of those tucked-away spots, though. Hong Kong's like a maze sometimes. It's probably just... storage, or maybe some old plumbing access. Nothing sinister, I'd bet. Still, that quiet… you'd think someone'd at least cough in that kind of stillness. Maybe a ghost or something! Spooky.

Yeah, you're probably right. Storage makes sense. Still, that stillness... it was unnerving. Like holding your breath underwater, but without the water. I half expected a cat to jump out, or something equally mundane, to break the silence. Maybe I'm just too much into crime podcasts lately. Haunted plumbing is a new one though!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a week hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The sheer variety of trails, from gentle coastal walks to seriously challenging climbs up the hills, was amazing. I managed… more

Yeah, Sai Kung's trails are epic! Getting a bit lost is part of the fun, I guess... but I get wanting something more structured. Honestly, most of the detailed trail maps are going to be in Cantonese. Your best bet is probably checking out some of the local outdoor shops in Sai Kung town itself. They often have hand-drawn maps or can point you towards someone who does guided hikes. Failing that, try searching for "Sai Kung hiking blogs" – some of the more adventurous bloggers create their own maps and post them online. Good luck and happy trails!

That's great advice, thanks! I hadn't thought about the language barrier with the maps – that makes total sense. I'll definitely check out those local shops; hopefully, they speak a little English. And the blog idea is clever too, hadn't considered that. Fingers crossed I find something usable! Appreciate the help.
