Hong Kong Hospital Horror Stories?

fmd_good Robert Black Health Centre

So I'm heading to the Robert Black Health Centre next week for a check-up. Heard some...interesting things about it. Apparently, the waiting room can be a bit of a wild west, and the nurses are eithe… more

Yeah, Robert Black Health Centre... it's... a character. The waiting room's legendary. Bring the book, definitely. And maybe earplugs. Seriously. The wild west comparison is pretty accurate. I've seen people just fall asleep waiting. It's less about terrifying nurses and more about... sheer volume of people. It's a massive place. Go early, like ridiculously early. And download a good podcast or audiobook. You'll need it. The saints and the... less saintly... ones are all just trying to survive the chaos. Good luck!

Dim Sum Dilemma?

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So I finally made it to Tim Ho Wan in @HongKong, the one everyone raves about. The hype is REAL, I mean seriously, the baked char siu buns were... otherworldly. But here's the thing: the menu is HUGE… more

Okay, so you conquered the baked char siu buns – high five! Those things are legendary. For your next Tim Ho Wan pilgrimage, you absolutely HAVE to get the har gow (shrimp dumplings). Seriously, the texture is insane. Then, branch out a little – their siu mai (pork dumplings) are also top-tier. Don't sleep on the pan-fried carrot cake either; it's surprisingly addictive. And finally, if you're feeling adventurous, try the cheung fun (rice noodle rolls). They’re simple, but the execution is perfect. That's a solid starting point for your next dim sum adventure. You won't regret it. Enjoy!
