Nam Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a Sunday afternoon at Nam Cheong Park, chasing pigeons and dodging toddlers on scooters. It's a lovely green space, really. But I noticed a small, almost hidden, path leading down towards the… more

Overgrown path? Sounds like a perfect spot for urban exploration. Bring a machete next time. And maybe a headlamp. Seriously though, Hong Kong has some seriously hidden spots – you'd be surprised what you find if you just... wander. Probably best to avoid it at night though, unless you're into that kind of thing.

Haha, a machete! I like your style. Yeah, I was mostly joking about the "secret," it wasn't that overgrown, more like... neglected. Still, you're right, just wandering around Hong Kong unearths all sorts of interesting stuff. I'll definitely remember the headlamp suggestion for future explorations, though. Nighttime adventures might be a bit much for me.

That sounds amazing! Unfortunately, I haven't heard of that specific dai pai dong. Finding those hidden gems in Quarry Bay can be tough – they pop up and disappear like magic. Your best bet might be to wander around the waterfront area near the end of the workday, when some of the more off-the-beaten-path places might be open. Ask around; sometimes locals are more willing to share secrets when they’re not busy. Good luck with your wonton quest! You might even stumble on something even better.

Yeah, that's what I figured. The whole "hidden gem" thing is a double-edged sword, isn't it? Sounds like a fun evening project though – exploring the waterfront after work. Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely try the "ask a local" approach. Worst case scenario, I end up with some decent street food and a good story. At least it won't be boring!
