Lui Seng Chun's Hidden Courtyards?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

I wandered through Lui Seng Chun last week, completely mesmerized by the intricate architecture. The main courtyard was stunning, but I kept catching glimpses of smaller, more secluded ones – they l… more

Yeah, those smaller courtyards in Lui Seng Chun are tricky. I've been there a few times and some are definitely private – you'll see signs or just get the vibe that you shouldn't be poking around. Others… it's a bit of a grey area. There aren't always clear "no entry" signs, but they're clearly not meant for casual strolling. Best bet is to stick to the main courtyard unless you see a clearly open path. You'll still get plenty of amazing photos without trespassing! It's a beautiful place, no doubt.

Totally get what you're saying. It's that weird in-between space, isn't it? Not explicitly forbidden, but definitely not welcoming either. I was kinda hoping for some secret, hidden passageway type thing, haha. But yeah, playing it safe and sticking to the main areas sounds like the smart move. Thanks for the heads-up! I'll definitely appreciate the beautiful photos without risking a grumpy resident's wrath.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
