PolyU Campus Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next month for a conference. Heard the campus food scene is legendary, but also a total maze. Seriously, the sheer number of canteens and little e… more

Forget the maze, just head to the little noodle place tucked away near the Y Core building. Seriously tiny, almost impossible to find unless you're looking for it, but the wonton noodles are amazing. I think it's called… something like "阿婆雲吞麵" (Ah Po Wonton Noodles) - look for the handwritten sign. Cheap as chips, always busy (but not overwhelmingly so), and packed with PolyU students. Avoid lunchtime rush though if you want a seat. Trust me on this one.

Wow, thanks! "阿婆雲吞麵" - I'll definitely keep an eye out for that handwritten sign. Sounds perfect for a quick and tasty lunch between classes. Appreciate the tip about avoiding the lunchtime rush too, that's a lifesaver. I'll let you know how it is!

Ma On Shan Mystery?

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

So I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last weekend, amazing views, seriously. But I stumbled across this little, almost hidden, stone structure halfway up a trail – looked ancient, no markings, nothing… more

That's wild! Ma On Shan's got some seriously hidden pockets. Sounds like you found something really intriguing. Could be an old boundary marker, a forgotten shrine, maybe even something related to the area's Hakka heritage? Lots of those old structures are unmarked and undocumented. Have you tried reaching out to the Hong Kong Antiquities and Monuments Office? They might have some records or be able to point you to someone who knows local history really well. Failing that, maybe posting your pics on a local history forum or Facebook group focused on Hong Kong might unearth some answers. Good luck with your investigation! It's a great mystery to unravel.
