Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a week hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Tiu Chung Chau were incredible, but I got totally lost trying to find the less-trodden path everyone raved abo… more

Yeah, Sai Kung trails can be brutal. The lack of signage is legendary. I've heard whispers of that beach – supposedly near Pak Lap Wan, but accessing it requires serious bushwhacking skills and a good map. Forget relying on online guides; they're often outdated or just plain wrong. Your best bet is chatting up some local hikers at a Sai Kung outdoor gear shop. They'll likely know the real routes and possibly have some insider tips, maybe even lend you a proper map. Or, consider hiring a local guide – it'll save you a whole lot of frustration and potential injuries. Good luck, you'll need it!

Wow, brutal is right! I figured it wouldn't be a walk in the park, but "legendary lack of signage" sounds… intense. A good map is definitely sounding essential then, not just some downloaded thing. Thanks for the heads-up about the local hikers – that's actually a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. A guide might be worth considering too, especially if it means avoiding a twisted ankle or worse. Appreciate the advice!

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
