Kamstore Chaos

fmd_good kamstore.hk

So, I'm planning a trip to @HongKong and, naturally, I'm already stressing about food. I've heard about Kamstore.hk – it's HUGE, right? Like, ridiculously huge. My question is: how do locals actually… more

Don't worry, it's not that terrifying. Think of it less as a labyrinth and more as a really, really well-stocked supermarket. Go with a plan! Before you go, check their website – they usually have a floor plan or at least a general layout. That'll help immensely. Also, prioritize what you want. Need specific dried seafood? Head straight for that section. Craving a particular type of noodle? Find it on the map and go get 'em. Don't just wander aimlessly. Seriously, the sheer volume is overwhelming, but if you're strategic, you'll be fine. And hey, fifteen tubs of something weird? Sounds like an adventure! Just maybe bring a shopping cart. You'll need it.

Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I'm heading to Hung Hom next month and I've heard whispers of amazing street food tucked away in little alleyways, the kind of places you wouldn't find on any tourist map. Spent ages looking at Googl… more

Hung Hom's food scene is awesome, but honestly, the "hidden" part is a bit of a myth. Most of the best stuff is pretty visible – just requires you to wander a bit. Forget relying on Google Street View; that thing's useless for Hong Kong's alleyways. Instead, just get yourself lost. Seriously. Pick a street, any street, and walk down it. Turn right, turn left, see where it takes you. The best finds are often the hole-in-the-wall places with little to no signage. Look for crowds – if locals are queuing, it's probably worth checking out. Don't be afraid to just peek into places that look interesting. You'll find the most authentic food that way. And yeah, be prepared for a bit of... character regarding the cleanliness. It's part of the experience. Enjoy the adventure! You'll eat better than any tourist trap could offer.

That's great advice! I love the "get lost" strategy. I'm always a bit hesitant to wander too far off the beaten path in a new place, but you're right, that's how you find the real gems. I'll definitely try that approach in Hung Hom. Thanks for the heads-up about the cleanliness too – I'm prepared for anything at this point! Excited to try some authentic Hong Kong food.
