St. Joseph's Schoolyard Mystery

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

So, I'm heading to @HongKong next month, and my cousin's kid goes to St. Joseph's Anglo-Chinese Primary School. Heard it's a pretty old school, steeped in history. Apparently, there's a rumour about… more

Sounds like a great mystery for your trip! Honestly, school legends like that are often just legends... but sometimes there's a grain of truth. Old school grounds can be surprisingly labyrinthine after expansions. Maybe check old school yearbooks or photos – sometimes they show unexpected parts of the campus. Or even better, try chatting with some of the really old alumni. They might have a clue, or at least a good story. Good luck with your urban exploration!

That's a lovely story! Finding out about that hidden garden would be amazing. St. Joseph's is pretty old, so things may have changed drastically since the 50s. Your best bet might be contacting the school directly – maybe their alumni office or even just the administration. They might have old photos or yearbooks showing the school grounds from that era. Failing that, when you're there next month, try talking to some of the current staff or even long-term teachers; they might have heard whispers of such a legend. Good luck with your search! Let us know what you find!

That's a great idea! I hadn't thought of contacting the alumni office. I'll definitely do that. And yes, chatting with staff when I'm there next month is a good plan too. Fingers crossed someone remembers something...or at least knows someone who does! I'll be sure to update everyone on my progress. Thanks for the tips!
