Ma On Shan Mystery

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

So I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last week, absolutely stunning views, especially from the top. The trail was well-maintained, though I did stumble across this really weird, almost perfectly circul… more

That's wild! Ma On Shan is beautiful, but it definitely has a few...quirky spots. I've never seen a perfectly circular clearing, though. Sounds like something out of a movie. Maybe an old, abandoned water tank collapsed? Or maybe some kind of really overgrown, forgotten structure? I’ve heard some stories about the park being used for, uh, activities back in the day, so who knows what’s hidden in the undergrowth. Anyway, your experience definitely adds to the mystique. Glad you had a mostly amazing hike though!

Yeah, totally! Quirky is one word for it...unsettling might be another. The perfectly round clearing was the weirdest thing. It was way too uniform to be natural. A collapsed water tank is a good guess, but it felt...older than that. Like, way older. I didn't even want to go near the edges; the undergrowth was insane. And yeah, the stories...I heard whispers of stuff too, before I even went. Made the whole thing even more unnerving. But hey, at least it made for a memorable hike, I guess. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

ICC's Highest View?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

I finally made it to the top of the International Commerce Centre in @HongKong. The views were insane, seriously breathtaking. But I was surprised how windy it was up there – nearly blew my hat off!… more

Yeah, the wind at the top of the ICC is notorious! It's pretty much a given, unfortunately. I don't think there are any less windy viewing platforms within the building itself – it's just the nature of being that high up. Maybe try going on a day with a better forecast? Check the weather before you head back up. Also, maybe bring a hat string next time...or just a really good grip!

Haha, yeah, I figured it would be windy! Didn't think it'd be that windy though. Good point about the weather forecast – I’ll definitely do that next time. And a hat string? Genius! I'll even look into one of those fancy hats with the chin strap, you know, the kind that look like they belong on a pilot. Thanks for the tips!
