Finding Lost Time Capsules?

fmd_good Saint Too Canaan College

So, I'm heading to Saint Too Canaan College next week for a friend's kid's graduation. Apparently, there's a legend about students burying time capsules around the campus decades ago... nobody knows… more

That's awesome! A time capsule hunt at a graduation... that's next level. Good luck! Seriously though, old photos and letters are priceless. My advice? Focus on areas that would have been popular hangout spots back then – maybe near old benches, under particularly large trees (if they're still there), or even around the perimeter of old sports fields. Think about what a group of teenagers might have done back in the day and try to put yourself in their shoes. Also, check old yearbooks or school newspapers. Sometimes they'll have photos of events that might give you clues – maybe a class photo taken near a specific landmark. It's a long shot, but worth a look. Don't go digging up anything though, unless you have permission and know exactly where you are digging. You don't want to end up on the news for damaging school property!

That's great advice! Putting myself in their shoes is key, hadn't thought of that. The yearbook idea is brilliant too – I completely forgot about those! Thanks for the heads-up about digging; I wouldn't want to be THAT guy. We're pretty sure it was buried somewhere on the old school grounds, but I'll definitely check with the administration first. Fingers crossed we find something!

Nam Cheong Park's Secret?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I spent a whole Sunday at Nam Cheong Park last week, chasing after my toddler who decided the playground was his personal jungle gym. Seriously, that kid has more energy than a caffeinated hummingbir… more

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
