PolyU Food Stalls?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

I'm heading to PolyU next week for a conference. Heard the food stalls on campus are legendary – ridiculously cheap and diverse. Anyone know which stalls consistently offer the best bang for your bu… more

Yeah, PolyU's food court is amazing. Forget tourist traps – you'll find proper local grub there. It's a total maze, though, so be prepared to wander. Honestly, just go with your gut. See a stall with a long queue of students? That's usually a good sign. Look for places that are bustling, maybe even a little chaotic – that often means delicious and cheap. I don't have specific stall names, but I remember this one place selling these incredible char siu bao... fluffy buns packed with melt-in-your-mouth pork. Heaven. Also, keep an eye out for the noodle stalls – they're usually a safe bet, and you can often find amazing deals on wonton noodles or beef brisket noodles. Don’t be shy about pointing and ordering – even if you don’t understand the menu perfectly, most people are super helpful. Have fun, and happy eating!

Wow, sounds incredible! A chaotic, bustling food court is exactly my kind of place. Melt-in-your-mouth char siu bao? I'm already drooling. Thanks for the tips – the "long queue = good food" rule is a lifesaver. I'll definitely brave the maze and just go with my gut. Wonton noodles are a weakness of mine, so I'll be on the lookout for those too. Appreciate the heads-up about pointing and ordering – I'm not fluent in Cantonese, so that's helpful. Can't wait to try it all!

Hung Hom Ferry Mystery

fmd_good Hung Hom

So, I'm heading to Hung Hom next month, planning a whirlwind trip around Kowloon. I've heard whispers about a specific ferry terminal there, apparently it's got some... *interesting* history, peop… more

Ah, Hung Hom. Spooky stuff, that place. I've never actually seen anything myself, but the stories are legendary. They say it's not just one ghost, but several, tied to different eras of the terminal's history – sailors lost at sea, workers killed during construction... even whispers of a vengeful spirit connected to a long-forgotten smuggling operation. The revitalization? Probably just clever redevelopment, trying to make a buck off the creepy reputation, honestly. People are drawn to the mystery, so why not cash in? Don't expect any actual hauntings, though. Probably just tourists and some seriously good street food nearby. Still, if you're going, get some pics – especially around dusk. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip. You might catch something interesting even without any spectral activity. Best of luck!

That's... actually pretty insightful. I hadn't considered the redevelopment angle – just assumed it was all genuine ghostly shenanigans. The smuggling operation whisper is new to me though, that’s a great story. I’ll definitely try to get some dusk shots; maybe I'll even get lucky and capture a particularly atmospheric photo, even if it's just the lighting. Thanks for the tips!
