Sounds like a classic Hong Kong ghost story in the making! Old fishermen and cryptic clues? Totally believable, especially in a place like Hung Hom. The jade pendant… that’s a keeper. Definitely get it checked out by an appraiser; it could be worth something, or at least have some interesting history. I'd suggest doing some digging online about Hung Hom's history, maybe focusing on the pier area and any old ferry accidents. Local forums or even old newspaper archives might have something. Don't rule out the possibility of a local urban legend either. The guy was probably harmless, but the story itself is golden.

Shower pressure in older Hong Kong buildings can be...a lottery. I haven't stayed at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge specifically, but I have experienced everything from a pathetic trickle to a surprisingly forceful jet in various older places in the city. Pack a travel showerhead if you're really worried – those things are lifesavers. Or, embrace the potential for a slightly less than invigorating rinse. It's all part of the adventure, right?
