Quarry Bay's hidden depths?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week, and I've heard whispers of a hidden network of tunnels under the park near the waterfront. Locals call it “the labyrinth,” apparently some old drainage system or… more

Whoa, the labyrinth under Quarry Bay park? That's a new one on me. I've lived in Hong Kong for years and never heard of that. Sounds seriously creepy and cool at the same time! Old drainage systems can be amazing – and terrifying – places. Seriously though, I wouldn't go exploring it unless you're with someone who really knows the area and its history, and even then...proceed with extreme caution. Old tunnels are not usually well-maintained, structurally sound, or free of…other things. Might be better to stick to the well-lit parts of the waterfront. You could get lost down there, or worse. Maybe check with the local historical society or even the park's management? They might have info on that legend, or at least be able to tell you if it's even a real thing. Good luck!

Wow, thanks! I had no idea it was that serious. I figured it was just some local legend, but you’ve definitely made me think twice about venturing into the unknown depths of Quarry Bay park. I'll definitely look into contacting the historical society – that's a great suggestion. Maybe I'll just stick to enjoying the well-lit waterfront for now... Appreciate the cautious advice!

Nam Cheong Park Mystery?

fmd_good Nam Cheong Park

I was in Nam Cheong Park last week, trying to find that rumored hidden koi pond everyone talks about. My grandpa used to tell me stories about it – giant fish, shimmering scales, the whole shebang.… more

My ah ma used to tell me the same stories! Giant koi, bigger than your head... I’ve lived near Nam Cheong Park my whole life and never found it. Honestly, I think it's one of those Hong Kong legends – like the ghost stories they tell about the old abandoned buildings. Great for keeping kids in line, though. Maybe your grandpa embellished a bit? Or maybe it's hidden really well... I'll keep my eyes peeled next time I'm there, though. Good luck!
