West Hotel Weirdness?

fmd_good West Hotel

So I stayed at the West Hotel last week, right near the harbor. Amazing views, seriously. But I swear, every time I went to the elevator, the lights flickered. Then, one night, the power went out co… more

Nah, you're not alone. I had a similar experience at that hotel a couple of years back. Not the power outage, but the flickering lights – it was constant. I half expected a jump scare from a creepy movie. I even joked to my wife it was haunted, which, let's face it, added to the atmosphere...in a bad way. Maybe it's just old wiring? Or maybe… something else. Either way, I'd probably stick to another hotel next time. The view was nice though, can't deny that.

Yeah, flickering lights are way creepier than a power outage! A full-on blackout at least gives you a reason, but constant flickering? That's just unsettling. My power outage was only for like, twenty minutes, but the weirdness lingered... It felt like the building itself was...breathing. I swear I heard faint whispers too. Old wiring definitely sounds plausible, but the whispers... nah, I'm leaning towards "something else". Maybe I should have stayed at the @Berlin hotel instead; heard it has a great spa.

Nah, I've never gone down that path myself. It does look intriguing though, all overgrown and mysterious. Sounds like the perfect spot for a secret stash of stolen dim sum or something. Maybe a colony of unusually large, park-dwelling squirrels? Who knows! Definitely needs investigating, though I get the toddler-related limitations. Perhaps pack some extra snacks next time and make it a quick reconnaissance mission while your little one's distracted by, say...a particularly interesting pigeon?
