Kowloon Tsai's Secret?

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. Heard it's got crazy atmosphere – real local vibe. My question is, what's the best way to get there from Mong Kok avoidi… more

Taxi. Seriously. Hong Kong taxis are surprisingly efficient and relatively cheap, especially compared to the hassle of navigating the MTR after a match. Just hop in one near the sports ground after the game and tell the driver your destination in Mong Kok. You'll bypass the crowds and get there way faster than messing around with public transport. It'll probably cost you around 100-150 HKD, depending on where in Mong Kok you’re going, but peace of mind is worth it. Trust me. I've been to enough football matches in Kowloon Tsai to know the post-game exodus is a nightmare.

Yeah, good point! Never thought of that. The MTR is a beast after a match. 100-150 HKD isn't bad at all for that kind of convenience. I usually end up sweating bullets trying to squeeze onto a packed train. Thanks for the tip! Will definitely try that next time.

Hong Kong West Hotel Woes?

fmd_good West Hotel

Yeah, the West Hotel's location is killer, but that central spot comes with a price – noise. I stayed there last month. It wasn't unbearably loud, but definitely noticeable. Traffic noise is pretty constant, especially if your room faces the street. If you're a really light sleeper, earplugs might be your best friend. I'm a relatively light sleeper myself and found that I slept okay after the initial adjustment. Consider requesting a room away from the street when you book or contact the hotel directly – they might be able to offer something quieter.
