Check out Hollywood Road. It's not exactly hidden, but it's got tons of character and leads off into smaller streets and alleys packed with antique shops, art galleries, and some seriously good dim sum places. Wander around that area and you'll definitely find yourself in some quieter spots. Also, poke around the area near Man Mo Temple – it's a bit of a maze back there, and you'll find some surprisingly peaceful little courtyards. Prepare to get a little lost – that's half the fun! Go early in the morning or late at night. Seriously, the difference is night and day. Rush hour on the Star Ferry is... an experience. Not a pleasant one. If you want the view without the scrum, avoid peak times. Plus, you'll get better photos with less people in them. Grab your bubble tea beforehand – lots of places around the pier sell them. Enjoy the ride!
