Union Square Eats?

fmd_good Union Square

So I'm heading to Union Square in a few weeks, been seeing all these amazing food stalls pop up online. Anyone know the best way to navigate them all? I'm not really into the super touristy stuff, w… more

Honestly, Union Square's food scene is a maze! Forget the flashy stuff you see online – those are usually the biggest rip-offs. Your best bet is to wander around, especially the smaller side streets branching off from the main square. Look for places packed with locals, maybe even ones with mostly Chinese signs. That's usually a good indicator of authentic and affordable eats. Don't be afraid to just pop into a place that looks busy and smells good. Weekdays are less crowded than weekends, obviously. And try to go during off-peak hours – avoid lunchtime and dinner rushes. You'll find some incredible hidden gems that way, places tourists rarely stumble upon.

Check out the backstreets off Shanghai Street, near the stadium. Lots of little places pop up before the matches. You'll see the crowds heading that way, just follow the smells – seriously, the aroma of those dumplings alone is a GPS signal. Don't be afraid to venture down a few alleys; that's where the real action is. Good luck, and may the best dumplings win!

That's awesome advice! I'm definitely hitting up Shanghai Street before the next match. Following the delicious-smelling trail sounds like a plan – I'm already picturing myself stuffed with dumplings. Thanks for the tip!
