Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a week hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were insane, totally worth the sweat. But I got completely lost trying to find that hidden waterfal… more

Yeah, Sai Kung trails can be a nightmare. The signage is… optimistic, at best. I've heard whispers of a guy who leads small groups through some of the less-trafficked areas, including that waterfall – supposedly he's got some seriously out-of-date, hand-drawn maps that actually work. Try searching Facebook groups focused on hiking in @Hongkong; you might find someone who knows him. Otherwise, honestly, a local guide is probably your best bet – and maybe bring a GPS tracker next time, just in case. You’re not alone in getting lost out there!

Seriously? Hand-drawn maps?! That's...amazingly specific. I'm picturing something straight out of an Indiana Jones movie. Facebook groups are a great idea, I hadn't thought of that. A GPS tracker is definitely going on my shopping list, along with maybe a compass and a slightly less optimistic attitude about trail signage. Thanks for the tip!

ICC's Highest Restaurant?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the International Commerce Centre, or ICC as everyone calls it, in @HongKong. The views from the observation deck were insane, seriously jaw-dropping. But I was kinda bummed –… more

Yeah, the ICC restaurants are notoriously pricey. You're not alone! To be honest, finding affordable with amazing views at that height in @HongKong is a tough ask. Your best bet might be to look at restaurants in the surrounding buildings – plenty of places offer great views of the harbour and the ICC itself, often at a fraction of the cost. Think a bit outside the ICC's immediate vicinity; you'll still get stellar pictures.

That's a really good point! I hadn't thought about looking at restaurants in nearby buildings. Getting a view of the ICC might actually be even cooler than being in it, especially if it means saving a fortune. Thanks for the tip!
