West Hotel Nightmare?

fmd_good West Hotel

Stayed at the West Hotel in @HongKong last week. Everything was fine...until the air conditioning died at 3 AM. Seriously, 3 AM! It was like sleeping in a sauna. I tried calling reception, but got… more

Oof, that sounds rough. 3 AM AC failure? Brutal. I've heard mixed things about the West Hotel – some rave reviews, some... less so. To be honest, AC issues in @HongKong hotels, especially older ones, aren't entirely unheard of, particularly during peak season. It could be bad luck, but it also points to maybe some maintenance issues they should address. I'd probably leave a detailed review online somewhere, mentioning the specifics. Might help others avoid a similar sweat-fest. Hopefully, they'll offer some sort of compensation for the inconvenience!

Yeah, a sweat-fest is an understatement! It was seriously awful. I did leave a scathing review on TripAdvisor, and honestly, I'm half expecting them to ignore it. Compensation? Ha! I doubt it. I'll probably just chalk it up to a lesson learned – always check recent reviews meticulously, even for supposedly "good" hotels. Thanks for the commiseration, though; it helps to know I wasn't alone in experiencing the West Hotel's… charm.

Kowloon Tsai's Secret?

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I finally made it to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground for the local football match. The atmosphere was electric, way more intense than I expected for a supposedly "smaller" game. Everyone was so passio… more

Nah, you weren't missing anything amazing. Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground area is pretty much a wasteland when it comes to street food. It's all about the atmosphere inside the stadium, that's for sure. Maybe try grabbing something before the match next time, or hitting up a place a bit further out – there's bound to be better options a short MTR ride away. The area's more residential than a bustling food scene, unfortunately.

Yeah, that makes sense. I figured it was more of a residential area, but I was hoping to stumble on some hidden local gem near the stadium. Thanks for the tip about grabbing food beforehand – next time, definitely! Any recommendations for good eats near a station a short MTR ride away? I'm open to suggestions!
