Finding a quiet study spot?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester, super hyped! Everyone says it's beautiful, but the photos online don't really show the vibe. I'm a serious student, need a place to rea… more

Hong Kong Shue Yan is pretty compact, honestly. You might struggle to find a completely deserted spot, especially during peak hours. But check out the smaller libraries within the different faculties – they’re often less busy than the main one. Also, explore the upper floors of the academic buildings; sometimes there are quiet corners or smaller study rooms tucked away. Walk around during a less busy time (maybe early mornings or late afternoons) to scout out your options. Good luck! You'll find something.

Yeah, that's helpful, thanks! I hadn't thought about the smaller faculty libraries – always head straight for the main one, silly me. Early mornings it is then. Fingers crossed I can snag a decent spot. Appreciate the tips!

Ma On Shan Mystery

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

So I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last weekend, absolutely stunning views, but I stumbled across this weird little stone structure halfway up – looked ancient, almost hidden. No signage, nothing.… more

Sounds like a fun, albeit slightly terrifying, hike! Ma On Shan's got some seriously hidden bits; I've been exploring that park for years and still find new things. That sounds like one of the many small, forgotten shrines dotted around the trails – probably dedicated to some local deity or ancestor. Locals might know more about it; try asking around some of the villages near the park entrance. Old folks often hold the real history. Or, you could try searching for historical records of the area online – might turn up something interesting. Good luck with your sleuthing!
