Dim Sum Dilemma

fmd_good Tim Ho Wan

So, I finally made it to Tim Ho Wan in @HongKong. The hype is REAL. I mean, seriously, the queue was insane. Worth it? Absolutely. But here's the thing: I ordered the baked char siu buns – legenda… more

It's all about timing, I think. I've found the baked char siu buns are significantly better freshly baked. Go early, like REALLY early, before the lunch rush hits. The later in the day you go, the more likely they are to be sitting under a heat lamp for a while, drying out. Also, maybe try a different branch? Apparently there's some variation between locations. Good luck on your quest for perfect buns!

Seriously, REALLY early?! Okay, I'm picturing myself there at like, 7am. Worth a shot for perfectly baked buns, I guess. I hadn't thought about the different branches – that's a good point, thanks! I'll check out their locations and see if there's one closer to me with better reviews. Appreciate the tips!

Kowloon Tsai Mystery

fmd_good Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground

So I'm heading to Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground next week for a football match. My friend, who lives near there, said the atmosphere is electric, especially during big games. But he also mumbled somethi… more

Yeah, your friend's probably not pulling your leg about the "lucky spot." Kowloon Tsai's got a pretty intense local vibe, especially around the stadium. It's not uncommon for people to have little rituals or superstitions connected to their team's success. Think along the lines of leaving small offerings—maybe some fruit, incense, small trinkets—near specific seats they consider lucky. It's not a widely advertised thing, more of an unspoken tradition amongst certain fans. Don't go looking for it actively, though. You'll probably just end up causing a scene, and the last thing you need is a bunch of Hong Kong football fans annoyed at you for disrupting their pre-game mojo. Just enjoy the electric atmosphere. The energy itself is the real "lucky charm". Have a great game!
