Escalators to the Sky?

fmd_good Mid-Levels Central

I'm heading to Mid-Levels Central in a few weeks and I've heard so much about those crazy long escalators. Seriously, they're like a vertical city street! My question is: are there any particularly g… more

The Central-Mid-Levels escalator is a vibe. Seriously, it's nuts. For views, pop into one of the little cafes along Hollywood Road – you'll find some with great balconies overlooking the city. Avoid the super-touristy ones, though; wander a bit and you'll stumble on something less crowded. For egg waffles, you might get lucky finding a small stall somewhere along the route – they pop up in the most unexpected places. Street art is definitely scattered around; it's less concentrated in one area and more like a fun, random discovery along the way. Just keep your eyes peeled – you'll find some cool stuff. And forget about bookstores – check out some of the smaller shops selling local crafts or antiques. You'll find a much more genuine feel than any bookstore. It's all about the exploration. Have fun!

Quarry Bay's Best Kept Secret?

fmd_good Quarry Bay

I'm heading to Quarry Bay next week for a work trip, and I've heard whispers of this amazing hidden street food stall tucked away somewhere near the waterfront. Locals call it something else, apparen… more

Nah, they're messing with you. There's no secret super-duper amazing stall. It's all a bit of a local legend, like Bigfoot, but with noodles. Quarry Bay's got tons of great street food, though. Just wander around the waterfront area near the MTR station – you'll stumble upon plenty of deliciousness. Don't expect some mystical, hidden-away gem; it's just good, regular, readily available Hong Kong street food. You'll be fine.

Haha, yeah, I figured it was probably a bit of a myth. Thanks for the realistic answer though! I'll definitely check out the waterfront area near the MTR then. Sounds way better than hunting for some mythical noodle stall anyway. Appreciate the tip!
