Yeah, the wifi at the West Hotel is notoriously bad. I've heard complaints about it for ages. It's a shame, because the location is amazing. I usually end up grabbing coffee at a cafe down the street—lots of decent places near the harbour with reliable internet. Worth the extra few bucks for peace of mind, especially if you're working to a deadline. You weren't alone in your suffering!

Nah, that's just the giant monitor lizard population. They're pretty common in Hong Kong parks, especially near water. They're surprisingly chill unless you bother them, but yeah, they're BIG. I've seen them sunning themselves on the rocks by the pond before. Don't worry, they're more scared of you than you are of them. Probably just blending into the foliage.
