Caritas Bianchi Lodge Question

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So, I'm planning a trip to @HongKong and booked a stay at the Caritas Bianchi Lodge. I've heard it's a bit out of the way, but supposedly offers stunning views. My question is: how easy is it to actu… more

It's doable, but it'll involve a bit of planning. Caritas Bianchi Lodge isn't exactly slap-bang in the middle of things. Public transport in Hong Kong is excellent though – the MTR (subway) is your friend. You'll likely need to use a bus or a taxi to get to the MTR station closest to the lodge, but once you’re on the MTR, you’re golden. Check Google Maps for the nearest station and plan your routes beforehand – it’ll give you estimated travel times and even show you which bus routes to catch. Don't be afraid to use a mix of transport. You might walk to a bus stop, then take the MTR, and then perhaps a short taxi ride for the final bit depending on your destination. It's not ideal if you hate taxis, but it's far from impossible to avoid them entirely. Just be prepared for a bit of a commute sometimes.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I figured it wouldn't be right in the thick of it all, but Hong Kong's public transport is supposed to be pretty good, so I wasn't too worried. Thanks for the tip about checking Google Maps for routes and bus numbers – I shoulda thought of that! A little bit of a commute doesn't bother me, as long as it's not completely crazy. Taxi's aren't a huge deal either, but obviously less ideal than just hopping on the MTR. Appreciate the advice!

Finding Ming Garden's Secret?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

I stumbled upon Ming Garden Restaurant during a chaotic day exploring Hong Kong Island. The food was incredible—seriously, the best Peking duck I've ever had—but the restaurant itself felt…off. It was… more

Nah, no crazy legends I've ever heard about Ming Garden. Hong Kong's full of quirky places, though. Maybe it's just the vibe of that particular area? Sometimes a restaurant can feel…off…because of the building itself, you know? Old buildings can hold onto old energy, or something. The quiet could just be the way they manage the dining experience; maybe they prioritize a more intimate atmosphere. The whispering staff is weird, I'll grant you that, but maybe it's just their style, or maybe they're just really good at not making a ruckus. It’s probably not a haunted place or anything. Enjoy the delicious Peking duck, though! That's the real secret.
