PolyU Food Stalls?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

So I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next week for a conference. Heard the food stalls on campus are legendary – seriously, everyone keeps raving about them. My question is: what'… more

Honestly, navigating PolyU's food stalls is half the fun. Forget trying to pick one must-try dish – that's impossible! It depends on your craving. If you want something quick, cheap, and satisfying, go for the curry fish balls. They’re everywhere and always a solid choice. For something a bit more substantial and local, hunt down a stall selling char siu bao – but be prepared to queue! The quality varies wildly, so look for stalls with a long line; that usually means good stuff. And if you see anything with egg waffles… well, you should probably just get that. You won’t regret it.

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
