Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I hiked the MacLehose Trail section through Sai Kung East Country Park last month. Absolutely stunning views, but I got seriously lost trying to find that supposedly hidden waterfall everyone talks a… more

Haha, the MacLehose Trail can be a beast! That waterfall's location is… fluid, let's say. Trail markers? What trail markers? Seriously, I've heard whispers of a local guide who knows every twist and turn – maybe even the secret shortcuts. They're not always easy to find, but they're worth looking for if you're serious about finding it without getting hopelessly lost again. Check out some of the local hiking groups on Facebook or Instagram; someone there might have insider info or even be organizing a guided hike. Good luck, you'll need it!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
