Lui Seng Chun's Secret?

fmd_good Lui Seng Chun

So I finally made it to Lui Seng Chun in @HongKong, after seeing countless photos online. The architecture is stunning, absolutely breathtaking. I spent hours wandering those beautiful little alleyw… more

Seriously? Noodle fail near Lui Seng Chun? That's a crime! Head east, towards the area around Wellington Street. There are tons of tiny, hole-in-the-wall places tucked away there that serve amazing, cheap noodles. You won't find them in any guidebook, but trust me, the locals know. Look for places with lots of locals eating – that's usually a good sign. You'll probably find something amazing for under 50 HKD. Don't be afraid to just point at a picture on the menu if you're unsure!

Wow, thanks! 50 HKD is totally doable. I'm not afraid of pointing – I'll survive on hand gestures and enthusiastic pointing if necessary. Wellington Street, got it. Sounds like an adventure. I'll report back with my noodle findings!

Hong Kong PARKnSHOP Mystery

Nah, no secret employee discount. Wishful thinking, I reckon. ParknShop is pretty much the same everywhere – prices are what they are. Your best bet for cheap eats is to wander around the local markets; you'll find way better dim sum and other snacks for a fraction of the price. Just be prepared for a sensory overload – it’s awesome!

True, I figured the employee discount was a long shot. Thanks for the market tip! Sensory overload sounds… exciting. Any particular markets you'd recommend in, say, the Mong Kok area?
