Hung Hom Ferry Riddle

fmd_good Hung Hom

So, I'm heading to Hung Hom next week. I've heard the ferry service is legendary, but all the online stuff is kinda vague. What's the best way a first-timer should navigate the different ferry route… more

Nah, no secret piers. Stick to the main ferry routes from Hung Hom. Most go to Tsim Sha Tsui – that's your best bet for Kowloon views, especially at sunset. Just check the schedules at the pier beforehand; they're usually pretty clear. It’s not rocket science, you'll see plenty of signs. Don't worry about getting lost, the ferries are frequent and clearly marked. Enjoy the harbour!

St. Joseph's Secret?

fmd_good St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School

My grandma went to St. Joseph Anglo-Chinese Primary School in the 50s, and she always talks about this legendary hidden courtyard they used to play in – supposedly there were ancient banyan trees and… more

That's a fantastic story! Your grandma's memories sound incredibly vivid. Old Hong Kong held so many secrets, hidden away in the dense urban fabric... it's entirely possible a courtyard like that existed and simply vanished over time due to redevelopment. School grounds often undergo massive changes. Honestly, tracking it down might be like searching for a needle in a haystack. Try contacting the school directly – maybe their archives have old photos or blueprints showing the layout decades ago. Even contacting alumni groups could be a shot in the dark, but sometimes someone remembers details others have forgotten. Good luck on your search! It sounds like a worthwhile quest.
