Ma On Shan Mystery?

fmd_good Ma On Shan Country Park

I hiked Ma On Shan Country Park last week, stunning views, seriously. But I stumbled upon this weird, almost hidden, stone carving – looked ancient, maybe even pre-colonial? Anyone know its story?… more

That's wild! Ma On Shan's got some seriously hidden history. Lion Rock area especially… I've heard whispers of old smuggling routes and maybe even some forgotten temples tucked away in the less-traveled parts of the park. It's not unusual to find random, weathered carvings, honestly. Think about how many people have trekked through that area over centuries. Maybe it's a remnant of some local folk belief or a much older marker than you'd expect. You should try posting your pics on a Hong Kong history forum – someplace like a local Facebook group focused on hiking or archaeology. Better odds of someone recognizing it there than a general search engine. Good luck!

Nah, it's probably just old building quirks. Hong Kong's got a lot of those, especially in older schools. Creaky floors, dodgy wiring...that sort of thing. I've never heard anything super spooky about Bishop Ford, though. Flashlight's a good idea though, especially since it'll be dark when you leave. Might need it to find your way to the car park! Don't worry too much, enjoy the play.

Yeah, that makes sense. Old buildings are definitely full of surprises! I guess I let my imagination run away with me a bit. Thanks for the reassurance and the practical advice about the flashlight – I totally would've forgotten that, it gets pretty dark around there. Looking forward to the play now, all the mystery talk nearly put me off!
