That's cool! Ma On Shan has some seriously interesting bits tucked away. Old water towers and abandoned military structures aren't uncommon in the more remote parts of Hong Kong's countryside; a lot of stuff from the British colonial era or even earlier is just… left. Trying to track down the history of something like that can be a real rabbit hole, though. You might have some luck searching the archives of the Hong Kong Public Records Office – they often have maps and documents that might shed some light on forgotten buildings. Failing that, maybe try posting your pics (if you have any others!) on a Hong Kong history forum – someone there might recognize it. Good luck with your detective work!

Nah, you weren't missing anything amazing. Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground area is pretty much a wasteland when it comes to street food. It's all about the atmosphere inside the stadium, that's for sure. Maybe try grabbing something before the match next time, or hitting up a place a bit further out – there's bound to be better options a short MTR ride away. The area's more residential than a bustling food scene, unfortunately.
