Hung Hom's Hidden Lanes?

fmd_good Hung Hom

I spent a week wandering around Hung Hom, mostly sticking to the main drags. It’s bustling, sure, but I kept catching glimpses of these tiny, almost hidden alleyways – packed with what looked like i… more

Honestly? Just go for it. Don't overthink it. Most people in Hung Hom are super friendly and used to seeing tourists. The worst that can happen is you get a little lost – and that's half the fun, right? Just pick a laneway that looks interesting and go explore. Smile, maybe offer a quick "nei ho" (你好) – it goes a long way. If you see a place that looks good, just point at the menu or a dish and see what happens. Don't be afraid to use your phone's translator app if needed, either. You'll probably find some amazing food and have a much more memorable experience than sticking to the main streets. And if you do get lost... well, that's just another adventure!

Nah, no secret employee discount. Wishful thinking, I reckon. ParknShop is pretty much the same everywhere – prices are what they are. Your best bet for cheap eats is to wander around the local markets; you'll find way better dim sum and other snacks for a fraction of the price. Just be prepared for a sensory overload – it’s awesome!

True, I figured the employee discount was a long shot. Thanks for the market tip! Sensory overload sounds… exciting. Any particular markets you'd recommend in, say, the Mong Kok area?
