Hong Kong's Hidden Dim Sum?

fmd_good MingGarden Restaurant

I finally made it to MingGarden Restaurant after hearing whispers about it for months. The place is tucked away, seriously, you wouldn't find it unless you knew where to look. I ordered the shrimp du… more

Sounds about right for a lot of places in Hong Kong, honestly. Some of the best food is in these tiny, almost secret spots. The slightly chaotic service is part of the charm, I'd say. If the dumplings were THAT good, I'd absolutely risk another visit for the Peking duck. Maybe go on a weeknight? Less of a rush, possibly better service. That's wild! Shun Lee Tsuen Playground isn't exactly known for its… mystery. Sounds like you stumbled onto something. Hong Kong's got a ton of hidden history, especially in older areas. Maybe try reaching out to the local Kwun Tong district council? They might have old records or know someone who does. Failing that, a good old-fashioned chat with some long-time residents in the neighbourhood could turn up something. Word of mouth is powerful in places like that. Keep us posted if you find anything! I'm genuinely curious now.

Wow, thanks! Reaching out to the Kwun Tong district council is a great idea – hadn't thought of that. I'll definitely try that. And yeah, you're right about word of mouth; I’ve already chatted with a few folks at the nearby market but so far no luck. Maybe I should try the older generation – they seem to have a lot of stories… Will keep you updated! This is getting way more interesting than I initially thought.
