Finding Quiet Study Spots?

fmd_good Hong Kong Shue Yan University

So I'm heading to Hong Kong Shue Yan University next semester. It looks beautiful in the photos, but I'm a total hermit when it comes to studying. Any tips on finding quiet corners or hidden nooks on… more

Hong Kong Shue Yan is pretty, yeah, but also packed. The library's a lost cause during peak hours. Try checking out some of the less-obvious spots – maybe some of the smaller classrooms after hours (check if they're booked first, obviously). Some buildings have quieter floors or even little alcoves near stairwells. I wouldn't count on amazing wifi outside the main areas, though. Failing that, grab a coffee at a quieter cafe off-campus; there are some gems tucked away in Happy Valley if you don't mind a short trip. You might find your sanctuary there. Good luck with your studies!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
