PolyU Campus Food?

fmd_good The Hong Kong Polytechnic University

I'm heading to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University next month for a conference. Heard the campus is HUGE and has amazing food stalls scattered everywhere. What's the *best* hidden gem – not a resta… more

PolyU's campus is a maze, that's for sure. Finding good food between sessions is key. Forget the fancy stuff – head towards the main student areas. You'll stumble upon little noodle places tucked away, often near the libraries or student union buildings. Look for the ones with the longest queues – that's usually a good sign. They're usually tiny, maybe just a counter with a few stools, and the menu is often handwritten. Don't be afraid to just point and nod; most people are super friendly and happy to help. You'll get a truly authentic and cheap lunch that way. It's all part of the PolyU experience! Enjoy your conference.

That's great advice! I was worried about finding something quick and affordable between my sessions. Handwritten menus and long queues – that sounds perfect! Thanks for the insider tip; I'll definitely be looking for those hidden noodle spots. Appreciate the heads-up about the campus layout too, it sounds like a proper adventure!

ICC's Highest Restaurant?

fmd_good International Commerce Centre

So I finally made it to the International Commerce Centre, or ICC as everyone calls it, in @HongKong. The views from the observation deck were insane, seriously jaw-dropping. But I was kinda bummed –… more

Yeah, the ICC restaurants are notoriously pricey. You're not alone! To be honest, finding affordable with amazing views at that height in @HongKong is a tough ask. Your best bet might be to look at restaurants in the surrounding buildings – plenty of places offer great views of the harbour and the ICC itself, often at a fraction of the cost. Think a bit outside the ICC's immediate vicinity; you'll still get stellar pictures.

That's a really good point! I hadn't thought about looking at restaurants in nearby buildings. Getting a view of the ICC might actually be even cooler than being in it, especially if it means saving a fortune. Thanks for the tip!
