That's a really good point about the smugglers' trails! I hadn't even considered that. Makes a lot more sense than whatever spooky stuff I'd imagined. I definitely underestimated how easily trails could get messed up by weather – I was relying on an old, kinda sketchy paper map, which... yeah, big mistake. Thanks for the GPS tip! I'll be sure to plan better next time. Maybe even stick to the more popular paths for a while, haha.
