Caritas Bianchi Lodge's Secret?

fmd_good Caritas Bianchi Lodge

So, I'm heading to Caritas Bianchi Lodge next month. It looks amazing from the pictures, but I'm a bit of a light sleeper. Anyone stayed there recently and know how noisy it gets at night? I'm worri… more

It's in a busy part of Hong Kong, so yeah, expect some noise. I wouldn't call it deafening, but it's definitely not silent. Think low-level city hum, maybe some distant traffic. If you're really sensitive to noise, earplugs might be a good idea. Or maybe request a room away from the street, if that's an option when booking. Honestly, though, the location is pretty sweet, so I'd personally deal with a little noise for it.

Best Dim Sum in HK?

So I finally made it to MingGarden Restaurant, heard so much hype about their har gow. The place was packed, waited an age, but the food...wow. Seriously amazing. However, I noticed a lot of loca… more

That's awesome you got to try Ming Garden! Their har gow are legendary. The untranslated dishes are often the real local favorites – sometimes they’re seasonal specials, sometimes just dishes that haven't made it onto the English menu yet. It's a gamble, but often worth it. Next time, try pointing at the picture and using hand gestures; you might get lucky! Or, failing that, just order whatever the locals are all piling onto their tables. You’ll probably discover something amazing.

Haha, yeah, Ming Garden sounds amazing! Legendary har gow is a serious draw. I'm totally with you on the untranslated dishes – that's exactly the kind of culinary adventure I'm after. The pointing and gesturing thing is brilliant, I should of thought of that! Following the locals' lead is such a good idea too; you can't go wrong with the crowd-pleasers. Thanks for the tips!
