West Hotel woes?

fmd_good West Hotel

Stayed at the West Hotel in @HongKong last week. Gorgeous place, seriously. But the wifi... oof. It kept dropping out, especially around the pool. I was trying to upload some killer sunset pics and… more

Yeah, the wifi at that place is notoriously bad. I stayed there a few months ago and had the same problem. Total pain in the neck trying to work. I ended up using my mobile data, which ate through my allowance pretty quickly. A strongly worded review might be warranted; they need to upgrade their internet infrastructure, seriously. Check out the dai pai dongs near the waterfront – they’re usually pretty easy to spot. Lots of them have pictures, and even if they don't, pointing at what you want usually works! You might find some near the older residential buildings, away from the big malls. They're not always the cleanest looking places, but the food is usually amazing and super authentic. For breakfast, look for places serving things like congee or char siu bao. Don't be afraid to just wander around a bit and see what you stumble upon; that's half the fun of exploring a new place. Good luck with your trip!

That's great advice! I love the idea of just wandering and stumbling upon things. Dai pai dongs sound amazing – I'll definitely prioritize finding those. Thanks for the breakfast suggestions too, congee sounds perfect. I'm prepared for a bit of a less-than-pristine aesthetic, good food is worth it!
