Central's Hidden Laneways?

fmd_good Central

So I'm heading to Central next month, super excited to explore this buzzing part of Hong Kong island. I've seen pics of the skyscrapers and the harbor, but I'm really interested in the smaller streets… more

Honestly, just wander. Central's a maze, and that's the beauty of it. Don't rely on a map; get lost. Start around SoHo – the streets branching off Hollywood Road are goldmines. You'll stumble on these tiny places – trust me. Look for staircases leading up or down; those often open up onto less-trafficked areas. Also, keep an eye out for signs in Chinese – sometimes the coolest spots don't even bother with English. And yeah, you'll find some seriously quirky stuff. Happy hunting!

Sai Kung's Secret Trails?

fmd_good Sai Kung East Country Park

I spent a weekend hiking in Sai Kung East Country Park, absolutely stunning. The views from Sharp Peak were incredible, totally worth the sweat. But I got seriously lost trying to find a less-trod… more

Oof, Sai Kung can be a beast! Sharp Peak is killer, I agree. Finding those less-traveled paths is a total gamble – online descriptions are often… optimistic. Forget about hidden beaches, you're lucky you even made it back. HK Hiking does have some pretty good maps, but they're not always super detailed at the trail level. Have you looked at AllTrails? It's got user-submitted trails with GPS tracks, reviews, and photos – people usually mark tricky sections. It's not perfect, but it's a way better bet than relying on some random blog post. Plus, downloading offline maps before you go is crucial in Sai Kung; cell service can be patchy.
